STREETS, FIRE & POLICE

As mayor, I have worked to reduce costs to city government so more funds can be invested in keeping our citizens safe. I have focused by efforts on making our small city run like a business. This has included moving our municipal court to state county government and passing a use tax for online purchases from out-of-state.

Minimum wage increases and the uncertainties that came along with the pandemic have caused us to face new financial challenges. We have seen significant investments in street improvements and other infrastructure in the last couple of years. However, I remain committed to investing in streets, police, and fire protection as a top priority.
